Developing Creative Ideas For Paintings

Beginner to Advanced
   
In this workshop, Donna will demonstrate and discuss methods and ideas that will help you turn ordinary subjects into creative and imaginative paintings. We will focus on composition, finding creative color, and a personal use of the elements and principles of design.

All levels are welcome and this workshop is open to all media. Donna will be using watercolor and white gouache in her classroom demonstrations. Students will work from their own reference materials (photos, sketches, etc.) and can bring paintings in progress to work on or begin new paintings in class.

Donna’s paintings have evolved from an early emphasis on traditional watercolor realism to an unconventional use of the watercolor medium and the exploration of the area that lies between realism and abstraction.

Donna Zagotta is a nationally recognized artist and teacher.  She has accumulated numerous awards in major exhibitions.
