Beginner to Advanced

John’s workshop will begin with abstraction, encouraging representational painters to experiment with a different style and challenging experienced abstract painters to explore new possibilities in expressing their creative voices.  The design elements explored through abstraction will then be applied to representational paintings.  His workshop includes demonstrations, critiques and lots of individual help.  Artists are encouraged to expand upon their current levels of understanding and become more comfortable applying the principles and elements of design to their work.

John has won more than 175 awards in national and international exhibitions, including many major awards from the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, New England Watercolor Society, Watercolor USA and Watercolor West. He has served as a juror of selection for the American Watercolor Society's and the National Watercolor Society's International Exhibitions and as awards judge for the American Watercolor Exhibition.
