 “THE BUSINESS OF ART”

A One-day Seminar with Bette Ridgeway

Having a successful career as a visual artist, means taking control of not only your artwork but also how it is viewed by others.  In this workshop, Bette Ridgeway will discuss every aspect of an artist’s career, including approaching galleries (when and how), writing an artist’s statement, keeping records, pricing artwork, licensing, preparing portfolios (print and digital), creating an impressive website and more!

Are you perceived as a serious artist who is in business?  If you expect to sell your artwork, there are many shortcuts to be learned from others who have succeeded in making a living as an artist.

The workshop will provide ample time for discussion and questions.  Each participant will receive a workbook and a CD with a wealth of information on such subjects as copyright and contracts.

Bette Ridgeway is a full-time artist who lives in Santa Fe, NM, the second largest art market in the U.S.  She is represented by several galleries throughout the country.  She has recently launched a line of jewelry and designs websites for artists and other creative individuals.  Visit her website to learn more: www.ridgewaystudio.com
