Beginner to Advanced

The main focus of this workshop is design and composition: that evasive element that elevates a painting from ordinary to award-winning.  Whether you are a representational painter or totally abstract, a beginner or advanced; design and compositional skills will help you create dynamic artwork that exhibits strength and confidence.  Participants will build traditional skills as well as explore and experiment with new, creative painting techniques as Kathleen shares her knowledge of materials and methods of working in watercolor, acrylic, drawing media, collage, texture building, color concepts, layering and more.  Demonstrations, lectures, handouts, directed exercises, and individual attention will enable each participant to understand and apply the new information in class and at home.  Independent work time will allow application and personalization of these new techniques and concepts.   Bring your sense of adventure, enthusiasm and plenty of energy for this inspiring, fully-packed workshop.
